General Inquiries

Q: When and where is CultureCon NYC? 

A: Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6 2024 at Duggal Greenhouse - 63 Flushing Ave, Building 268 Brooklyn, NY 11205 

Q: Who is this event for? 

A: CultureCon is the go-to destination for Black creative professionals, creators and entrepreneurs looking to make their mark on culture. We bring together some of the most brilliant creative minds in the industry to build community, find inspiration and learn the skills you need to take the next step in your professional journey. 

Q: Is this event outdoor or indoor? 

A: The majority of this event takes place indoors but some elements of the event will take place outside. The event will continue except for in the case of very severe weather.

Q: Is there an age requirement for attending CultureCon?

A: You must be 18 years and older to attend CultureCon. Children under 2 permitted, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 

Q: What kind of ID is required for entry? 

A: Only valid (non-expired) government issued IDs will be accepted. This event is 18+.

Ticketing

Q: When do tickets for NYC go on sale?

A: Tickets are on sale now! Find them here

Q: What do the different ticket types mean? 

A:  CultureCon is a two day conference with a few different ticketing options designed to provide you with choice about your experience while keeping pricing accessible as possible. 

Weekend tickets include both days (Saturday and Sunday), while single ticket days are for specific days only. Both weekend and single day tickets also include a VIP upgrade option with an elevated experience. See the ticketing section here for descriptions of each ticket tier. 

Note that all tickets are non-refundable, but are able to be transferred. 

Q: What are your ticket policies?

A: Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred via the ShowClix platform. 

Student ticket holders must present a valid student ID at check-in.

Q: I can't come anymore. How do I transfer my ticket to someone?

We'll miss you! Follow these steps to send your ticket to someone else. 

  • Log in to your My Tickets account here: MyTickets Login

  • Click "Manage CultureCon 2024 Profile".

  • Select "Transfer Items" in top right corner.

  • Enter the recipient email, select items to transfer, and hit "Transfer".

  • Transfer Confirmation appears.

Note: an account is created once a purchase is made and automatically linked to the email address used when a purchase is made through ShowClix. As such, there is no way to create an account prior to ordering a ticket.‍

When logging in the first time, if you navigate directly to My Tickets instead of following the registration link sent via email, please select Forgot Your Password on the log-in screen to create your initial password.

Q: I bought a ticket for a friend, how do I send them their ticket?

Each person needs a valid ticket to enter the event. Please follow the ticket transfer instructions above before arriving to the event so each of you can check in easily. 

Q: Are there student tickets available?

A: Student tickets are now sold out! You can still purchase regular tickets here. If you received a student ticket, please note that you must bring valid student ID to the event. 

Q: Can I get group tickets for my company/brand/school/organization? 

A: Corporate group tickets are available (minimum 10 tickets) and you can purchase them here. For other group ticketing requests, please email tickets@theccnyc.com

CultureCon App 

Q:  What is the app for? What info is on it? 

A:  The CultureCon app is your go-to guide for navigating the event. It has key information including the site map & schedule. If you have access to a smartphone, we highly recommend downloading the app for the easiest access to CultureCon information. 

Q:  Is the app required? 

A:  While we highly recommend using the app to get all your CultureCon info in one place, it is not required to enter the event. A small quantity of printed schedules will be available at the info desk for attendees who do not have access to a smartphone. 

Q:  Where can I download the app?

Venue Policies

Q: Will there be filming / content capture onsite?

A: Yes there will be content capture onsite for CultureCon and brand partner social & marketing materials. 

Q: What bags are permitted at CultureCon?

A: Small bags, purses, and clear bags are permitted. 

Q: What is prohibited at CultureCon?

A: Weapons (guns, knives or weapons of any kind), fireworks, explosives, illegal substances, glass containers and cans, framed or large backpacks, or non-transparent bags (any bag that is not clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and over 12”x6”x12”, lensed cameras, long lens cameras or professional photography equipment, radios, boomboxes, instruments  or devices with amplified sound, laser pointers, pets of any kind (except for working service dogs) and items for vending (unauthorized vendors will not be allowed). 

Q: What’s the COVID policy?

A:  We will not require proof of vaccination, a negative covid test, or masks to enter CultureCon. The safety of our guests and team members is our top priority. If you are not feeling well, stay home. 

Programming

Q: What type of programming will I see at CultureCon? 

A:  CultureCon will be a jam packed weekend of programming designed for creatives at all stages of their journey. Expect talks and workshops that provide tangible takeaways to build the career and the life you want. Expect art, shareable moments, and activities designed to spark creativity. And most importantly - expect to be surrounded by an incredible cohort of people who are excited to meet you and welcome you into the CultureCon community! 

Q: Who will be onstage at CultureCon?

A:  Sign up for our email list, follow us on socials, or download our app to be the first to hear about talent, programming and event announcements!

Q: Will there be opportunities to network? 

A:  Of course! The program has been designed to help you find your community and leave with new connections. We encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and make some new friends!

Food and Drink

Q: Will there be food & drink available onsite for purchase? 

A:  Yes! There will be food & drink (including a bar) available onsite both days. 

Q: Can I bring my own food and beverages?

A: No food and drinks of any kind other than reusable water bottles are permitted. No coolers or picnic baskets are allowed. 

Accessibility 

Q:  Is the venue ADA accessible? 

A: CultureCon spans multiple buildings within the Brooklyn Navy Yard. All GA areas at Duggal Greenhouse & Activation Alley are ADA compliant. Our third space is still under construction so more detailed information will be posted here as we get closer to the event date.

Q:  Is the event seated or standing? 

A: The event will have a mix of seating and standing elements. Stage programming will be seated. 

Q:  Will there be closed captioning? 

A: Yes, stage programming will be closed captioned. 

Q:  Will there be a Nursing/Lactation Room available onsite? 

A:  There will not be a designated nursing/lactation room onsite, but please reach out to us at tickets@theccnyc.com or ask a staff member onsite who can guide you to a private space that you can use as needed. 

Q: Will this event use flash photography, amplified sound? 

A: Yes, the event will use flash photography and amplified sound.

Getting Here 

Q: Where is CultureCon 2024? 

A: CultureCon will take place at Duggal Greenhouse located at 63 Flushing Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205 (Building 268 inside the Brooklyn Navy Yard).


Q: What is the Brooklyn Navy Yard vs Duggal Greenhouse? 

A: The Brooklyn Navy Yard is an industrial complex with a large campus that encompasses many buildings. CultureCon will be headquartered at event venue Duggal Greenhouse (Building 268) within the Navy Yard. 

Q: How do I get to the event?

A:   Public Transport: A/C trains to High St or F Train to York St, walk to Brooklyn Navy Yard, enter Navy Yard at intersection of Sands Street and Navy Street, then follow the signs to CultureCon. 

Rideshare:  Use the Brooklyn Navy Yard Sands St. Gate as your drop off or pick up point. You can enter “Navy St. & Sands St Brooklyn NY 11205” in your ride share app. From the gate, walk into the Navy Yard and follow the signs.

Q: What Brooklyn Navy Yard entrance should I use? 

A:  The closest entrance to Duggal Greenhouse is the Sands St entrance, located at the intersection of Sands St and Navy St. For more info, see the Visitors Map on the Brooklyn Navy Yard website here.

Q: Is there parking onsite? 

A: There is no parking onsite. Street parking is available in the neighborhood, at your discretion.

Participating in CultureCon 

Q: I’ve applied to be a speaker/vendor for CultureCon, when will I hear back?
