COVL

MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTIST & STORYTELLER

“I just want to continue encouraging compassion. A part of healing, consist of exercising compassion. For yourself and others.”

What have you been working on? Gas yourself!
I’ve been redefining that balance between work and play and viewing myself and the growth I’ve acquired through a kind lens. I’m evolving within my craft, installing a new art piece next month in Miami, surpassing my own expectations. Finding peace in stillness and a new love for my art.

How does your culture inform your creative work?
Through my work, I am always trying to mimic those late salsa nights where I would stay up listening to my family party until the early mornings. My approach with color is forever trying to embody that warm Miami night. I am always on the hunt to figure out ‘feeling when seeing’. And that’s what mi cultura showed me—- To be loud, vibrant, carefree and proud.

What is your greatest struggle/challenge these days?
Dedicating more time to my passion projects.

What does community mean for you as a creative?
By building a creative community, it means to me there’s more enrichment towards what we can know, what needs improvement and how to collectively make creativity a resource for all.

What inspires you in your creative process?
Honestly? The process inspires me. That’s where I problem solve, ideate bigger ideas and explore new avenues.

Is there anything happening in your community that you'd like to shed some light on?
As I continue my own mental health journey, I just want to continue encouraging compassion. A part of healing, consist of exercising compassion. For yourself and others.
